Glossary deliverables: tangible products which are produced during a project diffusion: how an idea, training or new way of doing something spreads through an organzation formative evaluation: type of evaluation which occurs during the development stage and identifies product weaknesses innovation: a new idea, training, or way of doing something instructional design: the systematic process of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of instructional materials job analysis: a process which determines what tasks and responsibilities are required of a job needs analysis: part of the instructional design process that determines what needs to be taught, the characteristics of the learners, the contexts in which the instruction will be delivered, and the contexts in which the skills will eventually be used project scope: a systematic set of plans for managing and completing a project (Murdock, 2006) summative evaluation: type of evaluation that occurs after a project has been implemented and gathers data to help make decisions about utilization task analysis: a part of the instructional design process which involves breaking an activity down into small steps |
