Acknowledgement

As an international student, I have had the support of many people who have made my graduate studies go well and enjoyable as well. I have a ton of thanks to say here.

Initially, I would like to express my depth of gratitude to Dr. Mahnaz Moallem who offered me the opportunity to study in the Master of Science in Instructional Technology (MIT) Program. The professional but approachable demeanor she has demonstrated in teaching courses and chairing my portfolio is very impressive. Her dedication to the program and student has a great positive influence on how I commit to my career in the future.

When I first met Dr. Sue-Jen Chen, I was excited because we have the same eye color and the same skin color. She has been my mentor throughout my graduate experience in the MIT Program. As well as being an advisor, she taught me how to adapt the learning and living environment here as a foreign student. She worked hard and made her classes informative and well-organized. The way to call and sustain students’ attention in class is very technical.

Dr. Anold Murdock’s patience is very contagious. He treats every student nicely and patiently. I am very grateful to him who helped me with the relevant problems when I was in the class of ‘Multimedia Design and Development’. In addition, with him in another class I learned something useful about the application of the field to business setting such as project management.

Dr. Florence Martin is kind of like one of my friends although she just came to MIT program this semester. She is very approachable and open to everyone. I wish she had come here earlier.

Without fellow classmates and alumni in the MIT program I cannot learn a lot from them with various differences from me, and realize the importance of team work in learning and work. Also, interacting with them prompted me to reflect and do better. They were one of most valuable resources in my graduate study.

My last acknowledgement is given to my little baby. He was with me in the belly throughout almost two academic semesters. He had never bothered me when I was struggling for a lot of course work. How thoughtful he is!
