Summative Evaluation

Summative evaluations are conducted a short time after the training is implemented. According to Seels and Glasgow,
“the summative evaluation should be conducted by an independent evaluator” to avoid any bias towards the product.
The summative evaluation tests the materials chosen, the delivery methods, the overall process and product, and tests
to see if the training meets the needs of the desired learning outcome. Not only does the summative evaluate the overall
process, but it also evaluates the overall impact and value of the training to the company.
