Media Utilization involves assuring that the chosen media is accessible and functioning properly for implementing the instruction or training. During the design phase, the designer must consider the resources available so to cater the design plans accordingly. When the project is ready to implement or execute, the designer must double check prior to implementation to make sure that the training will be conducted effectively.

Examples of Media Utilization include: Ensuring Internet connections for Web-based courses, making sure appropriate software is installed on computers, testing software prior to Computer-based course delivery, making sure all resources are available for instructor-led courses (flip charts, overheads, etc.).
