UNCW MIT 516 Class Notes
Week #1
Behavioral (Explicit) Objectives must contain the follwoing:
1. Behaviors - measurable action verb
2. Conditions - rescources and tools used
3. Criterion - standards, goals & guidelines targeted
Additional Notes
1. Additional feedback from learners is neccessary with Intellectual Skills because responses to new knowledge can be so open-ended
2. "Are you working with readers or non-readers?" Cultural and physical barriers may limit users. Using video along with written word may help alleviate this problem
3. When creating education modules for the Attitude Domain, use video instruction only because it is the most effective. A learner analysis may help you make this decision of which domain.
4. Creativity can be a problem when dealing with clients because of personal preference and the expectation of infinite scope attached to such products. To mitigate this problem, put your ideas out first and let the client choose among them.
5. Gagne noticed patterns in objectives and created his domains of learning. See slide #37 for a simplified breakdown of these domains.
