Acknowledgements

Throughout my graduate studies, I have had the support of many people who have made my achievements possible. First and foremost, I would like to thank Dr. Mahnaz Moallem for being a positive influence during both my undergraduate and graduate careers. Dr. Moallem introduced me to the field of instructional technology early in my undergraduate career and later provided support and encouragement during my graduate studies.

I would also like to thank Dr. Jennifer Summerville for chairing my portfolio committee and providing someone to talk to about the field as well as being a source of personal support. Because of Dr. Summerville I feel that I am a more well-rounded student and instructional technologist.

Dr Sue-Jen Chen and Dr. Arnold Murdock have both offered much support as well throughout graduate school. They have both helped me grow as a professional and as a reflective practitioner. Because of the entire MIT faculty, I have developed knowledge and skills I never imagined possible.

Finally, I would like to thank Dr. Monica DeTure at Cape Fear Community College for offering me the opportunity to put much of my graduate studies into practice. The opportunity to apply my knowledge in the workplace with guidance has given me confidence and many ideas for the future.
