Professional/Career Goal

I had been planning – after graduation – to continue as PR Specialist at Cape Fear Museum of History and Science, while monitoring job opportunities, however this recently has changed.  Just today, Halloween 2006, I had an interview for the position of BIG (Business, Industry, Government) Training Director for Cape Fear Community College .  The interview went very well, and I am excited although trying not to get my hopes up too high at this point.

I had been thinking that I would like to achieve an additional Masters degree in Marketing through UNCW’s Cameron School of Business and to complete the Spanish Language Program.  This still holds true.

Following today’s interview, which has me beyond excited about working in the field for which I have been studying, I desire to work a good many years as a Training/Instructional Design Manager and ultimately to enter a PhD program.

Professional Development Plan

Keeping up with professional development is a simple prospect for me because I am certifiably addicted to learning.  I squeeze learning into every spare moment. On my holiday breaks from University courses, I have been known to enroll in on-line courses, dynamic web design during Christmas 05 and graphic design during summer 06.  I already have my sights set on a Pimsleur audio language course on Farsi for this Christmas break.

If hired as BIG Training Director with Cape Fear Community College , professional development will be built-in to the position. At this point all I can do is think positively about being offered the job.
