Instructional Technology Portfolio for Susan Elizabeth Allred

522 Annotation

Context

This project was developed as a partial requirement for MIT 522: Organization and Management of Instructional Technology under the direction of Dr. Mahnaz Moallem. The client for this project was the Cape Fear Center for Inquiry (CFCI) charter school. CFCI wanted to make improvements in the school’s technology infrastructure, personnel support, and technology skills for teachers. The project included three parts: a change proposal report, resource analysis report, and a technology plan. The change proposal included descriptions of the management team, resources, change model, and affected systems. The resource analysis report consisted of descriptions of the state/district policies, the national/state technology standards, network and internet acceptable use policies, current technology resources, existing technology use, and resources for technology change. The Technology Plan involved planning the implementation, budget, technology support services, professional development, timeline, and communication.

Conditions

This project was developed collaboratively by task force team that was comprised of Patsy McQuiston, Trisha Torkildson, and I. There was no budget for this project, but there was a timeline for completion in order to implement the following school year. One of the task force team members was working at CFCI and acted as a liaison between the task force and the technology committee at CFCI.

Scope

Our team’s understanding is that the CFCI would submit the technology plan to a funding agency and proceed with implementation upon receipt of grant money.

Role

As a team member I assumed the role of researcher by gathering data, analyzing data, and making sense of analysis. I collected extant data and conducted interviews. I also participated in planning the change project and developing details of the plan including mission, vision, objectives, assessment indicators, benchmarks, implementation activities, professional development activities and detailed and itemized budget and cost for the plan. I also collaborated with my team member in writing the final proposal for the technology plan.

Reflection

To be added upon completion of project.
